Writing this brings tears to my eyes. She will be truly missed. Norman is a best friend of mine. I spent many days playing with Norman at his granny's home as a kid. Mrs. Congo aka "Granny" treated me as though I was one of her grand kids. Her place was a home away from home. I give thanks to you Granny for treating me like one of your own. I can't tell you how many peanut butter and jelly sandwiches Norman and I shared. To this day, It was the best I ever had! Thanks again Granny! She was a great Mother and Grandmother. I'm sure she will be keeping a close eye on Norman and Albert and the rest of her family. Maybe from time to time you can look in on me as well. I been living in California many years now. Unfortunately, I didn't get to visit with her much since moving. I knew from Norman she had some health problems these last few years. I received a text message January 21st, and it read... "Yo man, I was trying to call you to let you know we put my grandmama in hospice. Thought you should know". After reading that text message, I instantly regret not visiting with her the last time I was in Chattanooga. I'm truly sorry. On January 31st I received a second text message from Norman and it read... "My beloved grandmother Bertha Mae Congo got her wings this morning at 1am. God is so good, :-) , you can call me whenever you want, I'm at peace now". And from that moment I knew she fought the good fight and finished her race early Tuesday morning. Granny wish I could have been there to see you off on your next journey. Don't forget to check in time after time. Rest in peach "Granny" My condolences. Love grandson Michael Hall
