Bertha A Berry's Obituary
Bertha A. Berry, 83, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025, in a local hospital. She was born March 16, 1942, in Bessemer, Alabama to Jimmy and Mattie Smith. She was employed by East Ridge Hospital for 30 plus years and was a very dedicated and faithful worker.
Mrs. Berry was a longtime and faithful member of Olivet Baptist Church. The most important things in her life were the love of her husband, Clarence Berry; her children; and grandchildren. Mrs. Berry loved to travel and work in her yard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Mattie Smith; her husband, Clarence Berry; her four sisters; one brother; and her beloved daughter, Kimberly Anderson.
She is survived by her children, Alfonso Smith of Rialto, CA, Evelyn (Harold) Williams of Knoxville, TN, Shirley (Cedric) Robbins of Winder, GA, Jimmy Anderson Jr. of Los Angeles, CA, and Cassius (Debra) Anderson of Chattanooga, TN; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and several devoted friends.
Mrs. Bertha Berry touched the lives of many, and she will be greatly missed. She will lie-in-state on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 12:30-1:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
