Barbara Ann Waldroup-Davis' Obituary
Barbara Ann Waldroup-Davis, 83, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away Friday, July 7, 2023, at her residence in Houston, Texas. She was born on May 20, 1940, to Willie Crump, Sr. and Helen Middleton Crump in Jackson, Mississippi. Barbara was the co-owner of South Suburban Fence and Construction and Arrow Iron Works. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen Middleton Crump and Willie Crump, Sr.; husband, Eurial Davis; sons, Clarence Waldroup and Nathan Waldroup; sisters, Edith Crump, Camilla Crump, and Eloise Crump; and brothers, Harry Crump, Arthur Jean Crump, and Gregory Crump. Survivors include her ex-husband, Hulbert Waldroup Sr.; sons, Derrick Waldroup, Hulbert Waldroup, Jr., and Kerwin Waldroup, all of Chicago, IL; daughters, Valencia Waldroup, Lisa Waldroup, Yolette Waldroup, and Regina Waldroup, all of Chicago; 35 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, Willie Crump, Dwight Crump, Jerry Crump, Timothy Crump all of Mississippi, and sisters, Pamela Crump, Cynthia Crump, and Frances Crump, all of Mississippi; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Barbara will lie-in-state on Monday, July 17, 2023, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at noon in the chapel with David Mendell as the eulogist. Burial in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
