Barbara Jean Simpson's Obituary
Barbara Jean Simpson, 91, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at her residence. She was a 1948 graduate of Hill High School. Barbara was a member of Mighty Warriors Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Simpson; father, Rev. Charles W. Davis, Sr.; mother, Madie T. Davis; and sister, Annie Louis Davis. Survivors include her son, Timothy T. Simpson of Chattanooga; daughters, Denise “JD” (Lewis) Richard and Rozz (Gary) Bloodsaw, both of Chattanooga; daughter-niece, Star Davis of Chattanooga; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles W. (Jean) Davis, Jr. of Chattanooga; sisters, Betty Stinson, Priscilla Sanders, Gwendolyn Davis, and Jacqueline (Charles) Hardy, all of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Barbara will lie-in-state on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, from 12:30-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Thursday, February 24, 2023, at 11 a.m. at New City Fellowship Church with Minister JD Richard as the eulogist. Burial in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
