Ms. Barbara Gurley Shahid's Obituary
Bashira Abdul Shahid a/k/a Barbara Ruth Gurley Williams, 69, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2019 in a local hospital. She was a 1969 graduate of Howard High School. She received her education degree from Knoxville College. Bashira served on the Usher Board at New United Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mahalah Gurley, Sr. Survivors include her son, Edward Anthony Williams, Jr.; a host of other relatives and friends. Pastor Eric Jones will serve as the eulogist.
