Barbara Parks' Obituary
Barbara Jean Parks, 72, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, September 29, 2025, in a local healthcare facility. She was born November 25, 1952 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Mary M. (Ulysses, Sr.) Knight and Jim Douglas. Barbara attended the Chattanooga Public Schools and was a graduate of Riverside High School, Class of ’70. She was employe by Life Touch for many years.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Ulysses Knight, Sr., Jim Douglas; mother, Mary M. Knight; sister, Mary Collier, grandmother, Lena Hambric; aunt, Verdell; niece, Aisha Knight; nephews, Lafrederick Collier and Deon Collier.
Barbara leaves to hold in their hearts many fond memories very loving and devoted siblings, Terry (Frank) Williams, Annette (Ronnie) Truss, Sandra Ransom Knight, Jacqueline “Jackie” Knight, Marilyn Knight of New York, Becky Robinson, Delorse Douglas, Annette Douglas, Authur Knight, Reginald Knight, James Knight, and Edward Odum; nieces, Erica Williams, Sherita Toney, Tynese Moorer, Lashonda Knight, LaWanda Knight, Chelsa Knight, and Candis Knight, both of Washington, DC; nephews, Gerald Hubbard, Jr., Torrance Knight, Jemicheal Knight, Eric Jemal Williams, Terry Young, Reginald Knight, Jr., Marvin Toney, Preston Knight of Washington, DC, Orlando Bates, and Rodney Bates; a host of aunts; uncles; great-nieces; great-nephews; cousins; other relatives; special friends, Joyce Alexander, Barbara Bates, Earl Pointer, and many other friends.
Barbara will lie-in-state on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 1-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Friday, October 10, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in the Chapel. Burial in Highland Memorial Gardens.
