Barbara J. Mathis, 70, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2021 at her residence. She was a 1968 graduate of Riverside High School and received her Associate degree in Business from Edmondson College. She was formerly employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Solomon and Violet Terry; husband, Nathaniel Mathis. Survivors include her son, Ricky (Sherry) Terry of Chattanooga; stepson, Kevin Shareef, of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Jeneaka Terry, Rena Cunningham, and Keyshell White; great-grandchildren, Breaishia Montgomery, Kaitlynn Cunningham, and Kai’leigh Moore; cousins, Syria Shepherd and Catherine Townsend; special friends, William Woodall, Sue Kilgore, Sandy Reed, Lois Sims, and Lavonia Rivers; other relatives and friends.
