Barbara Green Daniel's Obituary
Barbara (Green) Daniel, 73, formerly of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Friday, March 22, 2024, in Orange, California. She was born January 11, 1951, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Joseph G. Green, Sr. and Pluma C. Green. Barbara was also preceded in death by her late husband, Leroy Daniel; and brother, Joseph G. Green, Jr. She was a member of World Changers Church International in Atlanta, Georgia.
Barbara was a 1968 graduate of Howard High School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degrees from Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee. Barbara was also a member of the Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority.
She moved to Atlanta, Georgia in the early eighties and worked for the State of Georgia as an Adjudicator for over 20 years. Barbara and her late husband, Leroy Daniel, were founders of Club Scape (renamed Leroy Daniel Center) that opened to the public in the late nineties. This a 12-Step Recovery facility in Atlanta, Georgia and is still operating today and helping many people on their road to recovery from various addictions.
In 1989, Barbara was united in Holy Matrimony to Leroy Daniel. She was a very loving and giving person. She will be truly missed.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: two sons, James (Mary) DeLoach and Jonathan (Latonya) DeLoach; four grandchildren, Nicole, Christopher, Tiana, and Illumi; six great- grandchildren. Mila, Carter, Apollo, Cooper, Christopher Jr., and Damen; five sisters, Joan (Jesse) Houston of Chattanooga, Phyllis Green, Dr. Gloria Williams, Mayola (Edmund) Bedden, all of Atlanta, and Josephine Wilson of Nashville, TN; and a host of nieces; nephews; cousins and other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be announced and held on a later date. Announcement is by Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga, Inc.
