Barbara Ann Collins' Obituary
Barbara Ann Collins, 77, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023, in a local healthcare facility. She was a 1963 graduate of Howard High School. She was a member of Greater Community Church of Chattanooga. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Monroe Jones, Sr., Mildred and Fred Smith; sister, Mildred “Elaine” Johnson; and brother, Derrick Phillips. Survivors include her daughters, Aqua Collins Peoples of Chattanooga and Tisia Thomas of Phoenix, AZ; 3 grandchildren, TaBrisia Smith, Lauryn Peoples, and Ezra Peoples; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Monroe (Patricia) Jones, Jr., Kenneth (Cheryl) Smith, and Freddie (Mary) Smith, all of Chattanooga; sisters, Gloria Buckner, Brenda (Willie) Ballard, Sheridan Smith, Jennifer Smith, Terrell (Johnny) Reese, and Carla (Leroy) Mason, all of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Barbara will lie-in-state on Friday, August 4, 2023, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel.
