Antonio Maurice Hines' Obituary
Antonio “Tolu” Maurice Hines, 52, of Chattanooga, passed away, Sunday, June 8, 2025, in a local hospital. He was a 1991 graduate of Brainerd High School. He received his Associate degree of Science from Chattanooga State Community College. Antonio attended Olivet Baptist Church. He was an Electrician with IBEW Local 175. Some of the organizations he was a member of include the Outcast MC, Masons, Chattanooga Ole School Cruisers (COSC), and IBEW Local 175.
Antonio was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Ann Rucker; father, Pha DeWayne Abernathy; maternal grandmother, Frankie Hines; paternal grandfather, Leon Abernathy; and paternal grandmother, Nova Lee Abernathy Watts.
Survivors include the love of his life, his wife of 10 years, Shondra Hines; sons, Kwame Hines and Darryl Hines, both of Chattanooga; bonus son, Marvin Jones of Houston, TX; daughters, Ashley Hines of Charlotte, NC and Alayna Hines of Chattanooga; six grandchildren; father, Willie Rucker, Sr.; brothers, Gary (Cheena) Abernathy and Willie Rucker, Jr., both of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Latisha Abernathy of Chattanooga, Gendera Malveaux and Belinda Rucker, both of Atlanta, GA; aunt, Emma (Robert) Cooley of Chattanooga; special cousin, Sharma (Thomas) Sexton; best friends, Jay Nicholson and Clarissa (Kevin) James; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Antonio will lie-in-state on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 3-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 9 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor Robert Cooley as the Eulogist. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
