Angela Nancy Buckner Sanders Starkey's Obituary
Angela Nancy Buckner Sanders Starkey, 90, of Chattanooga, was called home on Friday, December 15, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Stevenson, Alabama on May 24, 1933. She was a longtime resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee as well as Toledo, OH. Nancy was a faithful member of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. Nancy’s loving spirit will carry on in our hearts. Nancy is survived by her loving children, Roland Edward Sanders, Dorothy Elaine Harris, James Ronnie (Gail) Sanders, Yvonne (Donald) Sanders, and Michael (Maxine) Sanders; her devoted grandchildren, Michelle Sanders, Nicole Huff, Angel (Brandon) Dumas, James (Jamie) Sanders, Marcus (Natalya) Sanders, Christina (Cory) Hall, Jatara Toney, Jatoya Toney, Jermell Toney, Micah (Danielle) Sanders, and Adrian Beech; her beautiful great-grandchildren, Anarra, Credale, Marcus II, Ja’Niyah, Kimora, Zachary, Brycen, Chrisean, Anoira, James, Lela, John, and Kaleb; two wonderful great-great-grandchildren, Carter and Kaidence; devoted niece/daughter, Deborah Johnson; great-nieces, Tiara McCullough and Sparkle McConnell; great-great nieces and nephew, Jada, Sundi, Lovely, Bella, and Joshua; loving 1st cousin, Sally McMillian; her honorary and loving children, Renee Grayson, Lonnie (L.W.) Janice Smith, and Gwen Nance; devoted cousins, Willie P., Olla, and Sarah; devoted and loving friends, Gwen and Jean. The family will welcome family and friends on Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 12:30-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Nancy will lie-in-state on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church with the service to follow at 12 noon. Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
