Angela Hendley's Obituary
Angie Marie, 64 of Chattanooga transitioned on January 31, 2026, in a local hospital. She was surrounded by love, prayers, family and friends. She attended Central High School, where she graduated and went on to care for others at Haymond Homes of Alabama. Mrs. Hendley was a member of First Baptist Church of Washington Hills. Some knew her as “Angie” but she grew to be known as “Sister Hendley”. She dedicated her time on Thursdays with a prayer group. She loved attending Sunday service, it was always mandatory that she was there, if her health permitted. Sister Hendley enjoyed reading her bible, spending time with family, and plants. She always had a reason to smile. She is preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Elaster; father, Riley Allen Layne; brothers, Allen Layne and DeWayne Layne; husband, Ronnie N. Hendley. She is survived by her three daughters, Taj Hendley, Tamara Hendley, and LaKetha Hendley; two sons, Ronnie Hendley, Jr. and Darnell Hendley all of Chattanooga; 12 grandchildren; close friends and family, Jerome Taylor and Wanda Taylor; a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, other relatives and friends. Let's not mourn as she has transitioned. Lets keep her legacy going that she started from personal growth with love and worship. She will lie-in-state on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Ronnie Bullard as the eulogist.
