Amos Woodruff Jr.'s Obituary
Reverend Amos Woodruff, Jr., 87, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024, in a local healthcare facility. He was a graduate of Cedar Hill High School. He was formerly employed by Memorial Hospital for many years. Reverend Woodruff was a member of New Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as Assistant Pastor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. James A. and Florence Woodruff; brothers, Willie Clifford (Betty) Woodruff and Donnell (Bonnie) Woodruff; sisters, Thelma L. (Frank) Cothran and Janice E. Woodruff. Survivors include his son, James E. Woodruff of Sidney, OH; three grandchildren; brother, James Edward Woodruff of Chattanooga; sisters, Bernice (Gabe) Sinclair of Rome, GA, Imogene Odom, Carrie (Samuel) Robinson, both of Chattanooga, Mary (Melvin) Caldwell of McDonough, GA, and Ocie (Kenneth) Williams of Chattanooga; several associates in ministry; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Reverend Woodruff will lie-in-state on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Dr. Mark Sandilands as the Eulogist. Burial in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
