Mr. Allie Calvin Elder's Obituary
Allie Calvin Elder, 68, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, December 13, 2019 in a local healthcare facility. He was a 1968 graduate of Howard High School. Allie was formerly employed by Hamilton County as a school bus driver. He was a member of Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church. Allie was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Elder, Sr.; sister, Lavada Brown; and brother, John Elder, Jr. Survivors include his sons, Robert Orr and Calvin Elder; daughter, Lavada Elder; two grandchildren; brothers, Villanueva Elder and William (Lee) Elder; sisters, Johnnie Jones and Alice McGowan, all of Chattanooga; aunt, Inez Dave of Bridgeport, AL; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. He will lie-in-state on Friday, December 20, 2019 at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. at Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church with the funeral to follow at 12 noon with Pastor Carlos Williams as the eulogist. Burial in Highland Memorial Gardens.
