Alfro L. Chalmers' Obituary
Alfro L. Chalmers, 62, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away on January 29, 2024. He was born on June 21, 1961, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to parents, Reverend Willie James Moses and Velma Jorden. He was a beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle, and cousin to his loving family. Alfro lived a life filled with laughter and love. He was known for his skill with numbers, his love for math and reading, and was always listening to music. He was a 1979 graduate of Howard High School. After which, he attended Tennessee State University. As a young man, he regularly worked at the Bethlehem Center and excelled in playing tennis, basketball, and being the family tax guy. Alfro L. Chalmers was a memorable person with his love for cooking and having fun. He was kind, compassionate, generous, and always had time for jokes. Anyone who knew Alfro, knows he was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Lakers fan. He touched the lives of many with his intellect and quick wit. Alfro was preceded in death by his father, Willie; grandmother, Laura Boozer; uncle, James Chalmers; and nephews, James F. Williams, Jr. and Donte Antwon Williams. Alfro is survived by his mother, Velma; daughter, Chenita Thompson (Fayetteville, NC); granddaughter, Diamond Ewing; sisters, Laura Ann (Winston) Pickering and Martha L. (Anthony) Bumpass; brothers, Jermaine and Lebron Harper (OH); and of course, other family members. His memory will live on through his aunts, Sandra Hutson (Los Angeles, CA), Vera Davis (Tampa, FL), and Doris J Middleton (Victorville, CA); uncle, Jimmy R Seymore (Chattanooga, TN); and host of his loving nieces, nephews and friends. We will forever cherish the memories of Alfro. May he rest in peace, knowing that his legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Moss Feaster Dunedin Funeral Home, 1320 Main Street, Dunedin, Florida 34698.
