Alfonso Lebron Wilson, Sr., formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019 in San Diego, California. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and upon discharge, moved to Los Angeles, California. He was a Los Angeles County Sheriff for 15+ years and retired as a Police Officer of Los Angeles. Alfonso was a God-fearing man who loved the Lord profoundly. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sylvester and Addie Lee Johnson; aunts, Mattie Coleman and Bessie Coleman; sister, Donna R. Wilson; cousins, Kenneth Coleman and Ronald Coleman, Jr. Survivors include his mother, Daisy L. Wilson of Chattanooga; stepfather, Hewitt D. Turner; son, Alfonso Lebron (Melody) Wilson, Jr.; three grandchildren, Devonte Wilson, Major Wilson, and Mya Wilson; sisters, Earlene Dupree, Natalie Wilson, Barbara (Eric) Phillips, Sharon Turner, and Yolanda Turner; brothers, Robert Wilson of California, Anthony Turner, and Kentrell Turner, both of Chattanooga; aunts, Thelma Forbes of Bease Park, IL and Cora Washington of Janaza, NY; uncles, Nathan Wilson of Cleveland, OH and Devasco Wilson of Memphis, TN; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
