Alex Christopher Dave's Obituary
Alex Christopher Dave, 70, of Chattanooga, peacefully passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025, at his residence. He accepted the Lord at an early age and faithfully lived his life in the Christian faith. After graduating from Kirkman Technical High School, he proudly served in the United States Navy. Following his service, he built a long and dedicated career with Norfolk Southern Railroad, from which he later retired.
Family was the heart of Alex’s life. He deeply loved his nieces and nephews and embraced the role of a father figure to M. Larria Alexander and Jeremiah Alexander of Atlanta, Georgia. One of his greatest joys was fishing, a pastime that brought him peace and relaxation. With his laid-back spirit, charming personality, and handsome presence, Alex touched countless lives with kindness and warmth. His legacy of love, laughter, and devotion will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew him.
Alex was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Adelaide Shelton Dave, and his sisters, Alice Jacqueline Jones and Pamella Joyce Dave.
He leaves to cherish his memory two devoted sisters, Veronica (Lee) Jones and Cleopatra Dave Houston; six nieces, Yolanda Putman, Bridgetti Green, Tammy Howell, Valecia (William) Cardell, all of Chattanooga, LaTonya (Brendan) Rogers of Harrison, TN, and Valorious Sanderfer of Winder, GA; two nephews, Windell Jones of Chattanooga and Robert Houston of Augusta, GA; and cousin Mary Elizabeth (David) Morris of Chattanooga. Alex is also survived by a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and friends. Special places in his heart were held by his lifelong friend, David Smith of Chattanooga; and his dear friend, Olivia Alexander of Atlanta, Georgia.
Alex will lie-in-state on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon in the Chapel with Pastor Clinton Walker as Eulogist. Burial in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
