Aldine Fortson Hubbard's Obituary
Aldine Fortson Hubbard, 66, of Chattanooga, passed away at her home peacefully on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 22, 1959, to Raymond Fortson and Geraldine Mitchell Fortson in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was educated in the Chattanooga Public Schools System and was a 1977 graduate of Howard High School. She was previously employed by Orchard Knob Middle School.
Aldine lived a life filled with love, laughter, and grace. She was known for her easy-going spirit and warm smile. Aldine had a gift for making everyone feel welcomed. Her presence brought calm to any room, and her laughter was a comfort for all who truly knew her. She was deeply devoted to her family. A devoted wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who always put the needs of others before her own. Aldine believed that love and kindness were the true measures of a good life. Whether cooking dinner, offering a listening ear, dancing, or sharing wisdom with her family, she created a legacy of compassion and connection that will live on through everyone she touched.
Aldine was preceded in death by her grandparents, Thomas Mitchell, Sr. and Nannie Lee Mitchell; father, Raymond Fortson; stepfather, Egertis Butchee; and son, Tantonja “Tat” Fortson.
Those left to cherish her precious memories are her husband, Willie Hubbard; mother, Geraldine Mitchell Fortson; sons, Willie Witcher and Wendell (Tia) Witcher; step-daughter, Lefonda Witcher Jones; brothers, Ray Fortson, Fredrick L. (Mary) Fortson, Sr., and Dennis J. (Nadine) Fortson; sisters, Sharon Fortson, Belinda (Terry) Billingsley, Angela Butchee, Cindy Butchee, and Sandra Fortson (Angelica Hudgins); also a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Aldine will lie-in-state on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will follow at 12:00 noon in the Chapel with Minister David Thomas as the Eulogist. Burial in Highland Memorial Gardens.
