Agnes Lucille Simpson's Obituary
Agnes Lucille Simpson, known to her family and friends as “Lou,” was born on August 20, 1953, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Weldon and Rebecca Brooks. Agnes attended public elementary and high school. She was one of the owners of A Child’s World Daycare and Learning Center. Agnes was very dedicated to the lives of the children she encountered for 17 years, 1998-2015. Agnes was a member of Rock of Salvation Ministries for numerous years. Among those who preceded Agnes in death were her husband, John Willie Simpson; father, Weldon Brooks; mother, Rebecca Pitts Brooks; one and only daughter, Felicia Davis; sisters, Jessie M. Brooks, Doris Zene, and Brenda Derrick; brother, Wendell Brooks. One December 5, 2024, at 10:37 p.m. to be exact, God rang Agnes’s special hot line, and she answered. She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Mr. Jonathan Davis; bonus son, Darren Thomas; a very devoted special friend, Jerry Cofield; brothers, Weldon (Fredia) Brooks, Jr. and Bobby O. Brooks; two granddaughters, LaCretia (Eric) Grayson-McClendon and Chandranique Bush; four great-grandchildren; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and the list goes on…
She will lie-in-state on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel with Apostle William McGhee as the eulogist. Burial in Forest Hills Cemetery.
