Mother Martha Ann Few Adams
May 4, 1944 - September 29, 2021
Martha Ann Few Adams, 77, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at her residence, surrounded by her loving and dedicated family members. She was affectionately called “Mot” by her family and friends. She attended and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, class of 1965. Mother Adams was a lifetime member of Olivet Baptist Church, where she served as overseer of the Mother’s Ministry. She worked for Chattanooga Human Services as an Early Childhood teacher, then supervisor before retiring after 40+ years of service. After retiring, she continued her education at Chattanooga State Technical College, receiving an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education, graduating with Cum Laude. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, Mayor’s Women’s Council and on the Board of the Community Kitchen. Mother Adams also diligently volunteered for 9 years with CHI Memorial in the Mary Ellen Locher Breast Cancer Center until the pandemic. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Louise Few, Sr.; brothers, Clarence Kyle and Albert Kyle; sister, Vienna Few and Lucille Womble. She leaves to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy three children, Gerald (Kim) Few, Sr., Bishop Kevin (Cynthia) Adams, Sr., and Patrice (Curtis) Smith; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three siblings, Betty McDonald, Walter (Oceola) Few, Jr., and Alphonso (Varnell) Few; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other family members and friends. Bishop Kevin Adams, Sr. will serve as the eulogist.
