Marilyn Ragland Hester

Marilyn Ragland Hester, 72, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021, in a local hospital. She was a 1967 graduate of Riverside High School. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Tennessee State University and her Master’s degree at Trevecca Nazarene University. Marilyn was a member of Rose of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church. She retired from the Hamilton County Department of Education after 37 years of service. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Charles C. and Matilda Ragland; husband, Charles E. Hester; brother, Dave Ragland; and daughter, Kenya Robinson. Survivors include her daughters, Tiffany (David) Moore and Stephanie Johnson; grandchildren, Daniel Neely, Jr. and Kenya Johnson; brothers, Charles E. (Deborah) Ragland and Andrew J. (Marva) Ragland; sister-in-law, Grace Ragland, all of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. Pastor Andrew Ragland will serve as the eulogist.
