Virgil Varnell McGee was born November 1, 1933 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Willie E. McGee and Myrtle Barrington McGee. He is preceded in death by his brothers W. Edward McGee and Calvin Grady McGee and one sister, Eddie Read Obituary
I was speaking with my wife about barbershops these days, and I began telling her about Mr. McGee. I remember his genuine smile and the pinaud aftershave he would use once he completed each client's haircut. The Lord blessed him with the ability to accomplish three lifetimes' worth of achievements while maintaining a strong sense of humility.

Mr McGee was a classic. He was both an officer and a gentleman. He loved people. His barbershop was not only about cutting hair, but was utilized for critical thinking. Numerous conversations were always talked about while you waited for your haircut. Any one could chime in on these often difficult conversations. The community has lost a great leader, family man, entrepreneur, and a spiritual adviser to so many. Mr. McGee will be sorely missed. Congratulations my brother, you made it HOME!
