Wendetta Shoulders

Wendetta Fairbanks Shoulders, 69, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at her residence. She was loving known as “Wendy”. She was born May 20, 1952, in Athens, Alabama. Wendetta attended the public school system of Limestone County and then moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee to work and raise her family. She entered a cosmetology program and later graduated and earned her license. She loved doing hair and makeup. It was rare to see her without her signature “long lashes”. Wendetta was a member of McFarland United Methodist Church and loved to visit “the free store” at her church where she would pick up items for her grandchildren and anyone else, she knew needed something. She was employed by Flav-O-Rich Dairy for several years. Later in life, Wendetta worked in the childcare industry before deciding to stay home and help care for her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eula Mae Hines and Price Fairbanks Sr; three sisters and five brothers. Survivors include one son, Michael (Leticia) Fairbanks of Newnan, GA; two daughters, Sonya Burrell of Chattanooga, TN and Tia Shoulders Cummings of Madison, AL; six grandchildren, Taylor Fairbanks, Jordan Fairbanks, Charteta Burrell, Ciara Burrell, Daija Cummings, and Nyjah Cummings; three great-grandchildren, Mikayla Ellis, Christiania Burrell, and Montrell Slaughten; one brother, Larry Wade; one sister, Lynn Wade; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
