    Donald Delain Stone Jr.

    February 3, 2022

    Donald Stone Jr., 54, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022, in a local hospital. He was a graduate of Flint Central School. Donald went on to attend the University of Wisconsin where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety. He later earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Donald proudly served the City of Milwaukee for more than 20 years. In 2016 he took his talents to Chattanooga where he served as the Deputy Administrator for the Department of Chattanooga Public Works. He is the first African American to hold this position. His greatest accomplishment was becoming a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Stone, Sr., and Debra Lynn Jackson-Stone; grandparents, Wilda E. Newton, Herbert Stone, Jr., Anna Mae Jackson, and L. Jean Jackson. Survivors include, Christy Stone whom he shared a very special bond with; children, Satriena Stone of Flint, Michigan, Brittany Stone of Goodyear, Arizona, Donyell Stone-Sullivan of Phoenix, Arizona, and Lauren Stone of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren, Tristin, Trienity, Trust, Riley, Micah, Gavin, and Terina; sisters, Traci Threlkeld, Darice (Reginald) Mack, and Dawanda Stone, all of Flint, Michigan; uncles, Michael Jackson, Darnell Jackson, Robert Stone “Uncle Bobby”, Herbert Stone, Steven Stone, and Michael (Sharon) Stone; aunts, Ann Earnest, Nizell Jackson, and Cynthia Gamble; favorite cousin, Derrick “D-Bone” Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
