Anthony Hudgins

Anthony Hudgins, 67, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, in a local hospital. He was born February 23, 1955, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Jessie Mae and George Hudgins, Jr. He accepted Christ at an early age. Anthony was a 1973 graduate of Howard High School, where he was on the track team. He retired from Tennessee Valley Authority in 2007 where he worked as an Assistant Nuclear Unit Operator. He was a faithful member of the New Monumental Baptist Church Men’s Sunday School Class. Anthony was an avid golfer, poker player, and pool player. He was a family man, a loving father and grandfather. He had a big heart. He saw it as his responsibility to share with anyone in need or for any cause, even when it hurt. Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Bertha Nance Hudgins; two sons, Alonzo (Mealand) of Murfreesboro, TN and Brandon (Chyna) Hudgins of Chattanooga; two precious grandchildren, T’Kayli and Nicholas Hudgins both of Murfreesboro, TN; four brothers, George III (Ouida Pam) Hudgins, Marvin (Sandra) Hudgins, Kenneth Hudgins, all of Chattanooga, and Kalvin (Cynthia) Hudgins of Douglasville, GA; one sister, Sharon (John) Hawkins of Chattanooga; uncle, James Jones; aunt, Ella (Harold) Lay; good friends, Frankie Draper and Jeffery Anderson Sr.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Minister James Jones will serve as the eulogist.
